Guided meditation practices are a helpful resource in your meditation journey. However, it’s important to remember that they are not a replacement for a qualified teacher’s valuable teachings and guidance. Guided practices should not be used as shortcuts to learning meditation.
It’s essential to keep a few things in mind when using guided practices:
Ensure you have already attended a lesson with your meditation teacher before using the practices independently.
Try practicing independently first and only use the practice if you get stuck.
Use guided practices when your teacher is unavailable or if you are practicing independently.
I do not advise taking shortcuts or attempting to learn meditation quickly. Learning from a qualified, compassionate teacher is the best way to understand genuinely and master meditation. Think of it as going to university to learn a subject, where the books at home can supplement your learning but not replace the value of a teacher’s guidance.
I wish you the best of luck in your life-changing meditation journey!
