Observing the touch

Welcome, seekers!

– Sit comfortably and close your eyes, taking a few deep breaths to center yourself.
– Gently place your hands on your lap or knees, palms facing up or down, whichever feels more natural.
– Focus your attention on the sensation of touch where your hands make contact with your body or any object they’re resting on.
– Notice the temperature, texture, and pressure of the surface against your skin.
With each inhale and exhale, observe any changes in the sensations and how your body responds.
Note that any sensory input isn’t alive unless it comes in contact with your Consciousness. Just like switching on the bulb, but there’s no power. There won’t be any light.

Notice what kind of sensations arise when you touch an object or when someone touches you, like the gentle touch of a baby.

When the sensations arise, meet them with a gentle curiosity.
– If your mind wanders, gently bring your focus back to the tactile sensations of touch.
– Continue this practice for a few minutes, allowing yourself to fully immerse in the experience of observing touch.
When you’re ready, gently open your eyes and take a moment to reflect on the experience before returning to your day.

May you always be in touch with your Consciousness.

With gratitude and love!
